Reflector Bio announces a collaboration with KiraGen Bio to advance KiraLOGIC, KiraGen’s AI-driven platform for rational multiplex gene-editing design.
KiraGen is a Boston-based biotechnology company developing multiplex-edited CAR-T therapies engineered to resist the suppressive tumor microenvironment. Its lead program, KGEN-001, is an off-the-shelf, dual-targeting CAR-T therapy incorporating six protective gene knockouts for recurrent glioblastoma.
With billions of potential gene-edit combinations, identifying the most promising designs through experimentation alone is impractical. KiraLOGIC combines Reflector’s pretrained AI modeling capabilities with KiraGen’s proprietary design strategies and functional experimental data to prioritize promising combinations for testing. Each experimental cycle generates new biological insights to inform subsequent designs, creating an iterative engine for developing next-generation cell therapies.
“The number of possible gene-edit combinations is far greater than we can practically test. KiraLOGIC helps us focus on the most promising designs, learn from experimental results, and continuously improve how we engineer cell therapies,” said Aaron Edwards, Co-Founder and CEO of KiraGen Bio. “We’re starting with glioblastoma, but the bigger opportunity is building a platform that systematically engineers resistance to the biological barriers limiting cell therapies across solid tumors.”
